At home hair..

Every hairstylist has their pet peeves.  I must be honest in admitting that I have a lot. A huge one for me is at home hair. Whether it be diy ombre, a home hackjob or the cheap thinning shears route, it drives me crazy! A client sat down in my chair and I immediately noticed the breakage everywhere and asked if she wore ponytails etc. She said she didnt so the whole cut, I'm left wondering why her hair is in shambles.. then she spills.  She has thinning shears at home and goes to town on what she thinks is thick. Part of me is relieved it's not something serious and the other part is in disbelief that this woman found thinning shears at ross and THOUGHT THAT WAS OKAY. I'm allowed to get heated over awful hair :) I spend hours thinking and writing and scribbling and typing post ideas and while this doesnt have pretty pictures, I believe it needed to be said :) getting it out there. Please leave these things to the professionals! We are professionals for a reason and went to school for this ;) seeing that breakage is a huge problem for a lot of people and one of my major pet peeves, this is just the first post addressing it. Who doesn't love..

Shopping!!!! And having a reason?! Seeing that I'm done my highschool black wearing phase, the only dark pieces in my wardrobe now are pants.. This new salon is all black and white. So professional already! Loving the sound of it. Hoping to get some deals and of course share them with all of you! Kohls here I come! After work, of course. Have a wonderful day my lovelies!!

John Frieda

As a hairdresser, I do blow outs all day and love them!! When it comes to my own hair on the other hand, I am so lazy. I'll do everyone else's hair all day but when it comes to me, never. It's so exhausting blow drying, straightening, etc. Even curling is tiresome and that's what I do the most of on myself. Too lazy to use the clamp and add a minute to my time so beach waves it is! haha :) Anyone else just never feel like doing your own hair?
When the instyler was first introduced, I knew I had to have it!! The price is the only thing stopping me.. still. A hefty 90$ is about the cheapest you can find it. A couple months ago I saw a commercial for a John Frieda hot air brush and automatically thought it was so dumb and idiots would get it stuck in their hair.. Turns out I was half right but this product is amazing!!!! I got the 1 1/2 inch barrel and thought maybe it would be too big but it is absolutely perfect! If you're lazy and want a cute little blowout, this is something worth looking into and for only 30-40$, it's a steal! I completed a full blow dry on myself in 15 minutes and it would have been shorter had my hair actually been 70-80% dry. I've already recommended it to all of my friends and one of them is even getting it for her birthday next month :) Let me know if you try it out!!
