John Frieda

As a hairdresser, I do blow outs all day and love them!! When it comes to my own hair on the other hand, I am so lazy. I'll do everyone else's hair all day but when it comes to me, never. It's so exhausting blow drying, straightening, etc. Even curling is tiresome and that's what I do the most of on myself. Too lazy to use the clamp and add a minute to my time so beach waves it is! haha :) Anyone else just never feel like doing your own hair?
When the instyler was first introduced, I knew I had to have it!! The price is the only thing stopping me.. still. A hefty 90$ is about the cheapest you can find it. A couple months ago I saw a commercial for a John Frieda hot air brush and automatically thought it was so dumb and idiots would get it stuck in their hair.. Turns out I was half right but this product is amazing!!!! I got the 1 1/2 inch barrel and thought maybe it would be too big but it is absolutely perfect! If you're lazy and want a cute little blowout, this is something worth looking into and for only 30-40$, it's a steal! I completed a full blow dry on myself in 15 minutes and it would have been shorter had my hair actually been 70-80% dry. I've already recommended it to all of my friends and one of them is even getting it for her birthday next month :) Let me know if you try it out!!

Exquisite

I cannot even begin to tell you how many girls come into the salon and ask us how they can grow their hair fast.. Besides Biotin, eating right and just all around having a balanced diet, we recommend this product. It is a miracle worker and that is no exaggeration!! This oil from Matrix is simply amazing!! My boss has had clients with fried ends and while their touchup sits on, she drenches the ends in Exquisite and they soak it right up. This oil doesn't get greasy and you can use it on wet or dry hair. You can add it to your shampoo, conditioner or even put it all over and cap your head for the night. It acts as a treatment and styling product as well as everything else. It's about 22.00 but we haven't had one person purchase it who didn't think it was worth it. This will actually repair your damage and help your hair get back to healthy so you'll be on your way to those gorgeous locks you dream about.

Right off the bottle.

Please let me know if you've tried this or plan on it!! You won't regret it!!! :)

Demi vs Permanent

Hey ladies! This post is for all of you who color your hair at home (salon is always recommended!!) Working at this salon is so great! I'm learning so much already! Haha the previous salon ruined me and my potential good habits. My boss is always giving me tips and tricks and I always love hearing them. She told me that they barely ever use permanent color. They almost always use demi permanents on many of their clients. I never thought about it before but permanent is SO damaging! Props to the old salon for brainwashing me into thinking you should always do permanent and rarely do demi on anyone. Anyway, she gave me a formula for my mom in particular to try and I am so excited to do so! It will make her hair shiny, more healthy looking and most noticeable, it will fade much less. I will do an updated post once I use the formula on her (this was recommended for her ends but I will continue to use permanent on her roots)  As for using it on the roots, most people prefer it because it won't leave a harsh line like permanent does! Meaning, when your roots come in, they grow in gracefully and blend better :) Comment below if you use a demi or if you're thinking of switching now! Definitely keep in mind the integrity of your hair! :)

Something blue..

These are the three bridesmaids for a wedding I was asked to do. I did their hair and the bride's. She wanted them all the same but one had a shorter bob so we didn't do much to hers after her hair cut (fixing a bad one). The two other girls have an LC braid into a curly side pony and of course, the accent flower.
My two beautiful cousins

The breathtaking bride

fate?

I've been thinking for a while about whether or not I want to get back into a salon.. Today I just told my mom that I want to do it on the side because I'm already having signs of carpal tunnel along with all the other issues ha. What are the chances I meet a hairdresser today randomly? I told her I loved her hair and we ended up talking about salons. She asked if I did my hair myself and then told me to not give up on hair. That was just what I needed<3 here's my hair :)

My mom went from blonde and lying to herself about her natural haircolor to a red brown. From there, she decided to go darker and then eventually black. This picture is obviously before the black but we didn't get a picture of it.

Now :) She only wanted a touch up but i ended up having a good amount of color left so i went in and only painted the mid shaft and left the ends out. It resulted in a subtle variation of ombre and i love it!

ombre ay ayy

before 1 and 2. ashy roots grown in about an inch. abrupt platinum at very ends. brassy throughout.

AFTER! :)
less extreme. more toward the rachel bilson variation. less beige.
Yes, i still have my angled bob. Just very grown out.

i think i like this better than before
maybe before the concert, i will add more. not platinum but a bit more blonde on the ends. GROW HAIR GROW!
